RING OUT
A Cymbal that never rings out
A violin that never sings,
Objects of beauty that lost their voice.
Birds on a branch in silence
People who never laugh
A world dying within.
May we see the light again
See it spread warmth and smiles,
The birds will sing
The music heal pain.
May we then all understand
That kindness and care fuel life and joy.

More people like you in the world, Miriam, would certainly be a start to “seeing the light again.” The tragedy of today is that the world does not need to be going the direction it is. Fixes will be hard, but they are not impossible. We need voices that can reach out across the vast spaces of contradiction and inspire common action. So far, I don’t know who they are. Any ideas? –Curt

Hi Curt and so lovely to see you again. Your sweet words make me smile
And your deep thoughts about the direction of our world.
Could it be that we all who feel the same will spread the light and be careful in our choices.
I might have ideas 😊

I saw the title to this and the first thing I thought of was Monty Python’s “Ring out your dead.” Sorry. Nice work!

Thank you Phil for your fun comment, as I was reading it, Tennyson’s ‘Ring Out the bells…’, . As I wrote the title I only looked at my words to find what felt right. 😊.
