Broken Wings

Go back and take care of yourself. our body needs you, your
feelings need you. The wounded child in you needs you. Go home
and be there for these things. Practice mindful walking and mindful
breathing. Do everything in mindfulness so you can love. by Thich Nhat Hanh

Well, my dear friends out there who so inspire me from all corners
of the world. I very much love reading Thich Naht Hahn and other
thinkers.
Yet, on 5th September I didn’t heed these wise words. Not watching
my way I got entangled and took a dramatic flight up over the patio
which caused a number of broken bones.

Ambulance whisked me away to hospital where I had operation etc.
Two weeks later I was allowed home with help organised as in many ways
I was still helpless. Day by day I do improve and feel gratitude.

Broken bones
Surgeons skillful knife,
Accident or haste?
Caring hands.

Price to pay in pain
Scars and Cast
Lesson to be learnt

Love and care the balm
Given in abundance
from family and friends;
Best medicine of all.

Power of love heals.

    • Thank you, Jo. You are right, I didnโ€™t much like it either. ๐Ÿ˜Š. Unusually I had left the phone inside so did in the end resort to calling out for help. Luckily one neighbour heard me.
Thank you for the gentle hugs. As I say in my poem, kindness andlove are powerful.

    • Yes, Anne, it was rather dramatic. I am not likely to forget it in a jiffy.
Your healing wishes are joining the warm wrap from so many, thank you.
My cast on the right arm came of 3 days ago so I thought I give contacting you all a shot today. ๐Ÿ˜Š.

    • Thank you, Balroop for your positive vibes and hugs ๐Ÿค—, I am also very
happy to hear you missed my poems. At least now, with my arm out of the cast, I can write again.
Walking training is a daily schedule and I am going forward in the old skill.

    • Thank you, dear Bette, your warm wishes brought a smile. I was also glad to
see you noticed the quote and poem. It sort of all hangs together and made sense in my traumatised mind.๐Ÿ˜Š.

  2. Good to have you back with us, Miriam. I was so afraid you had just given up on your inspirational writing or had chosen to take some other life path. I do wish you well and trust that your recovery continues apace.

    • Thank you for your sweet comment, Robbie. Hospitals is not my favourite place either but at times they are life savers. It is indeed surprising how many helpful people there are when you are a bit broken. Maybe we all hide to much of ourselves. ๐Ÿค—.

    • Thank you, Ken for your warm sympathy,.
You are right about Covid and the much needed restrictions, yet I was in my
own little world for quite a while.
Yet, you canโ€™t help being aware.

    • Thank you for your kind concern, Andrea. I am glad to say that I am
improving every day. I can now write again and the walking is improving almost daily. The stick will be with me for a while longer though. Lots of training too … quite fun really. ๐Ÿ˜Š. The training that is, not the breaking.

    • Ahh …, JoAnna a warm thank you for your caring comment. The body is indeed amazing in healing. With osteoporosis you would be at an even higher risk so please, join me in mindfulness. Add an extra bit for the eager times when we forget. ๐Ÿ˜Š. I am cheering for new improvements every day. ๐Ÿ’•.

  5. Iโ€™m a little late seeing this. Sending healing hugs, theyโ€™re magic .

To make you smile. I bent sideways too far in the laundry this week, bearing foot slipped and I ended up stuck in the dirty laundry basket, all limbs sticking out ! Hubby said I looked really cute and regretted not taking pictures beforehand. No damage, just a few more bruises !

All the best to you ! Cheers B

    • Thank you so very much B. , those hugs are indeed healing.

Your story about ending up in the laundry basket is hilarious, especially as
nothing was broken. I think you can imagine my giggles when I imagine your position. Shame no camera was handy.๐Ÿค—.

All the best to you too and a hug.
