THE COIN
I saw a coin, inscribed FEAR
Lying there in the mud,
I picked it up and felled
tears of sadness for mankind.
Turning the coin around a wonder happened
my tears washed the mud away,
It now shone and said HOPE.
This is what I now wish for you and me
Hope in good for Earth and us.

I like the imagery used for creating positivity for the world… much needed! Washing mud with tears may be symbolic but is so inspiring, Miriam. Lovely thoughts.

Thank you, Balroop, for your positive comment. It gladdens me that you find the words inspiring. Imagery, I guess we use that in most poems. Sadly though, so many tears are felled and I am sure we both have done so. 💕.

Miriam, a wonderful and touching image of the muddied coin with its inscription of fear washed by tears to hope! With so many tears this past year may hope indeed reign strong – as you write so beautifully for us and the sake of the planet. A poignant and evocative poem framed by two stunning images and one that will stay with me! xx

Annika, thank you deeply for your beautiful comment. There is really two sides to each coin. Light and dark, fear and hope ……., may we polish and find the Hope – the light. May we find love and positivity.
I am so happy that you feel this poem will stay with you. ❤️🌴.
