Science and Space

Science and space

Driven by passion and hunger
fuelled by mystical questions about life.
How come, who are we, why does it work?

Mysticism is simply the unasked answer within,
an age old wisdom knowing right from wrong.
Knowing what heals a wound
be it of the body or soul.

Does it not then make perfect sense
that the two work together honourably.
Listen, test, measure
Letting the answer be in tune and respect.

Our bodies, universe, are all vibrational frequencies
Fine tuned at best,
would it then follow that tuning is vital,
Creator, healer of wounds.

Used in harmony with science for the solid,
creating knowledge that can heal or harm.
There is no sound without silence
There is no science without mysticism.

  1. Miriam, a stunning poem which seems to be taking you in a new direction! πŸ˜€With beauty and calm you show us how medicine and mysticism can work in harmony, how the β€˜bigger’ picture overall often becomes lost, care hindered. May our souls be healed along with β€˜Our bodies, universe, are all vibrational frequencies.’ A work that will stay with me for a long time, Miriam … along with the breathtaking first image! A wonderful and thought-provoking start to my weekend! Hope you have a special weekend filled with joy! πŸ˜€β€οΈ

  2. Annika, thank you from my heart for this beautiful response.
You sense a new direction and you could be right, time will tell. I do often
feel though that living things – be it man or plants – are treated in many separate parts when all the time they belong and function in unison.
As to the vibrational frequencies, they are an important part of all life.
Maybe one we don’t acknowledge enough.

May your weekend also be filled with joy and sun.

    • Roland, I am grateful for your deeply considered comment and understanding. You are right that there are many questions behind my
thoughts here and also flashes of understanding.
You last line makes me very glad. Thank you.

  3. Yet again, Miriam, you cut through to what really matters. As you say, science and mysticism (a much more fitting word than religion), need to work together. Either working alone may produce the wrong results. Together they can perhaps reach the solutions for the future of mankind and the planet. Maybe your words will inspire someone to make the next “giant leap”

  4. Thank you Peter for this interesting and complimentary comment.
We do need to be open to those vibrational frequencies,
to our intuition, to our inner dreams.

Your last sentence makes me giggle, I am very glad that some of you
out there read and shared my thoughts. Little leap.

  5. I enjoyed your thought provoking and insightful poem, Miriam. The Scottish physician Alexander Fleming observed the fungi and from there to develop penicillin. Who would think of the mold would heal infection. I agree that our bodies have a way to seek balance.

Again, I love your insightful poem. Have a wonderful weekend.

    • Thank you Miriam for your beautiful and positive comment. Alexander Fleming did indeed develop penicillin and what a blessing it has been. Before that so many tribal communities and mountain people noticed the healing power of fungi.
Maybe in today’s more hectic world we don’t get so much time to observe cause and effect.

Our bodies and souls always try to seek balance with the whole. We do need to pay attention. I am telling myself here. 😊 .

  6. David, a warm thank you for your poetic and wise response.
I am so glad you liked my reflections,
Now you can help me with the thoughts of
    where it all arises.

    Big question πŸ€ .

  7. This is BRILLIAN. I’m sharing it with close friends (I hope you don’t mind – with your name) and with a specialist I recently met who practices energy medicine. You describe exactly what she believes in. And you know what? I do too.

  8. Bela, thank you for your very appreciative comment. Yes, it goes a long way.
Harmony and mutual respect. Wouldn’t that make cruelty and wars impossible?
    Aloha to you too. πŸŒ΄πŸ’•

  9. Love this one, Miriam! There is a sort of mysticism or wonder, at the root of questions about science–are we alone? What is there? How does it work? Why does it work? And love the vibrations aspect; I think that is what ties us to the wonders of the natural world.

  10. Julie, a huge thank you for your wonderful answer. I agree with you, there is mysticism and wonder in science and I feel that great scientists are born with a special gift. Many of the great scientist also understood mysticism and the
reactions we have emotionally to the world around us.
How we get filled with joy and awe.

May they always trust each other.

  11. Some things that were once mysticism are now explainable by science, at least in part. They are like rivers that flow into one another. But there will always be mysticism – I hope. We need mysteries and things that make us wonder.

  12. You are so right JoAnna, many things are explained by science and hard working people committed scientists are. I love the way you compare mysticism and science as rivers flowing into each other.
I hope too that there always will be mysticism as it also drives our quest for knowing and understanding more.
