SOFTLY

SOFTLY

they fall upon a hungry ground,
snowflakes filled with dew.
So slowly, so gently they wake
grasses and plants.  Feed them

blessings from the sky.
As together Earth and snow create
A season of awakening, of new life.

The feed from above settles lightly
on my newly created lawn,
I say, thank you for the blessing
Knowing the grass will smile with the sun.

So gently we are all bound together
a creation of love and life.

Holding

Holding steady, holding firm
Love and care binding.
Floating through air, on waves,
through fears and joy.

Holding, never let go.
That is what the dream showed,

what a dream to come true.

Caring, seeing, holding with respect,
never greedy. Forming a bond of safety,
a circle of love.
A circle unbroken by storm or sun.

Could this dream be reality
Could we divest negativity and angst?

Seeing deep into each other’s souls
knowing them as they were our own,
Real soulmates, forever friends.

Daydream or real, it is for us to decide.
How do we want to lead our lives.
What choices do we make?

To Love Now

100_3015

To  Love  Now

Not the memories past
nor the dreams of future;
Love this moment, feel and see,
banish the cataloguing brain

At least for a while.

How can we take for granted
to see the birds flitting and feed,
Singing and playing in the trees.

Or see the wonder and immensity of the sky
the grand Cupola of Cosmos above,

Just now the heavenly scents from flowers
drift through the door. Should I not just Be?
Of course I should
and say thanks for the gifts and their multitude.

I wonder if I can bring this peace through the day,
pack it firmly in a corner of my heart.
I will tell you if it worked.
Or whether packing boxes won out.

Love the Now is not a new theory,
it is the only way to live, to feel joy.
Maybe we can convince our brains

Could they possibly live in harmony?

BELONGING

BELONGING

Where do we belong, each and every one?
What makes our soul sing and our work dance,
what do we seek, in stillness,
alone?

So many questions and no answers,
a teacher I am not.

I love the ocean, both when it rages and smiles,
also I love the forests, meadows and rocks.
They all have their voice, clear and sincere.
As they roar and whisper their eternal truths.

Not a false note nor a lie to be heard,
no lures and baits, just joy and veracity.
The rocks join in with healing vibes.

Among these I belong, feel peace and calm,
where also birds and butterflies live.

Many cities are so beautiful, I grant you that;
In awe I visited many times.
Admired the artistry of buildings famed
of skill and design, of achievements seeming greater than man.

I love visiting these but find the noise and rush,
the tensions and fumes of the streets too much.
Although exciting pulse will attract.

All these thoughts matter, have validity,
but don’t we really belong
with those we love unconditionally
as they do us.

Know us and love us,
Just for what we are, simply you or I.

HERE AND BEYOND

IMG_1859

HERE  AND  BEYOND

There is something beyond the mountains
Beyond the sun, beyond the stars,
beyond my burning, longing heart;

A yearning for Cosmos to fill the soul
with its song so pure and serene.

Sounds from oceans, lakes and forests
fill us with joy and peace,
how can there be more beyond?
I just know there is.

Looking at the complexity, the beauty of a rose
residing on the table as I write,
Does it also long for more or does it know;
The wonder of the Whole.

May I never be blind to the universe
held in a flower, a tree
nor to the glory of a human heart.

I feel the greatness of the Whole
is beyond the understanding of our minds.
Still, it is there, giving its gifts each day.

LITTLE HOUSE

banner-2840263__340

LITTLE HOUSE

I dream of you, long for you
Need you;
Little house near the sea.
With passion I long to enter,
to open that door.

There might be cobwebs and spiders,
still, straight through the hall and room;
Floor to ceiling windows flood the house
with light from sun and sea.

I drop my bag, abandoned it lays,
quickly walk up to the light. My heart melts,
A smile grows and tears run.

I found you, found you
my whisper says,
we belong. I feel at peace and complete.

Having wandered long, seen much,
learnt, laughed and cried;
Now I need harmony and peace.

Dear Little House, I will make you glow
like you made me,
so out comes buckets and tools
I start working whilst singing along.

As all is finished and glows
air streams in through the door,
the door to the deck facing the sea.
Do I need to say more?

Pulling up a little table and chair
to the windows, that now
shine and gleam,
sipping coffee just brewed;
The van won’t be here in quite a while.

So, I greet my beloved sea gulls and terns.

Then to my surprise a Goldfinch lands
on the windowsill.
He is beautiful and I wish he would stay;
Although he loves bushes and trees.

Settling in this house I dreamt,
among birds and creatures of the sea,
I will not forget, my dear winged friends
in the dreamy garden where I lived.

How could I, they enriched my life.

Should you ever pass my way
please remember to come in,
there will always be a welcome for a friend.

Borrow my place

child-3147809__340

Borrow my place

I watch them pass, children and adults
Humans of all ages, walking to school.
Skipping, hopping, running,
strolling, marching,
some slowly proceeding.

Just like the tempo of nature itself
we vary our strides, as time goes by.
Girls and boys from four to eleven;
Parents, grandparents, all ages.

All manner of mastering the hill
looking happy this sunny morn.

What delights me most are the bonds I see,
a mother and daughter giggling together,
a father running with his child on the shoulders,
a grandmother with and adoring girl by the hand.

Laughing together.
As do many children whilst skipping ahead.

That is when I feel reporters should borrow my place
by the sunny window, facing the road.
What pictures and stories on the first page,
replacing the grim and the dark.

Fill the papers with vignettes of our daily lives,
There is so much beauty in a smile,
contentment in a bakery or a store.
People sharing lives and caring for one another.

Creating, writing, painting,
planting gardens.
Making homes a place of fun,
of comfort and love.

A sanctuary
A place to just be.

Blessings

Blessings

Woke to a soft morning, felt whole,
warm under duvet, hands hugging my shoulders,
I smiled at the sleepy hug;
Stretched, felt every limb start to sing
as I allowed time to just be – before day begun.

Opened the curtains and saw the sun
hugging my garden, the trees, the sky;
All seemed pure and renewed,
only distant rumbles from planes high above,
Bringing people here and there.

Content with my place just now
until fate decides otherwise as mystery unfolds.
Arrived from one haven and landed in another;

I realise I am blessed.

CLOUDS VISITING

CLOUDS VISITING

Today the clouds visited earth,
in sweeping and shifting gauze
they swayed teasingly back and forth;
I breathed its droplets as I walked.

Skin felt rosy and refreshed
I am not sure about the lungs,
earth was happy and renewed
Even roses came out and shone.

Sun rays gently warmed the air,
the gauze thinned here and there,
mystically revealed and hid
parts of trees, branches, gables and spires.

What a delightful morning it was,
so much intrigue this dance exposed;

Made me think of us, our lives,
often harried with worries, wanting,
seeing fears ahead that might never come;

Rarely letting each day be revealed,
each wonder and delight,
each difficulty to combat at the time.

But for now I am here,
seeing the mystic, the clarity.

TIMELESS

are the Spheres’ whispers and music
the moon and the stars.
Among all noise and commotion,
the heavens just serenely are;

Spreading life giving light and warmth.

Timeless,
the word floated past this morn
tickled my spirit and tongue,
a delicious word
What does it mean to you or me?

I don’t doubt the timelessness
of oceans and seas,
Believe they will always hum and roar;
Their soothing, eternal and rhythmic song.

Whilst storing heat for our Earth.

The sky above, so exhilaratingly vast,
star studded at night.
I am sure it will always be
Timeless, beautiful, filled with mystery.

As to our beautiful, shimmering Earth,
how will it stand the test of time?
Our husbandry is awry and must improve
May we find harmony with the planet we love.

What about us humans, will our love, thoughts,
Creativity of all kind,
be a timeless force
forever drifting in the ether and inspire.
