Where Sky and Earth blend

Where Sky and Earth blend

There is always an horizon
so I believed, and there is.
Sitting by the sea as sun sets,
We see the horizon defined
where ocean meets the sky.

The seeming back of the stage
from whence spectacular displays burst forth;

Same happens when we watch the sunrise
or even the Moon throwing its mystic light.

I have stood high up on a ship at night,
in the middle of Atlantic it was.
Saw blackness so black I felt I was blind.
So black that no horizon could be discerned,

not good if you steered by stars.

Makes me wonder about our spirit,
could it be blinded too, only see the dark?
Unaware of the horizon of light.

How easy this could happen in a world of pain,
To not trust the light behind horizons
of dark nights at sea, deserts storms or earth.

Resplendent

R e s p l e n d e n t

So golden, so very golden,
I wish I could share
the warm fire from heather
as the Sun shines;

Spreading light from both below and above.

Sky, heather and fields
all take part
In this resplendent show,
this otherworldly praise,

Praise to life in all.

Reflections from the sun?
or are we also deep down
suns that can shine and glow?
Can we spread light,

Can we each be someone’s sun
lift sorrow, spread hope?
How grand that would be.

Light through Prisms

LIGHT THROUGH PRISMS

Knowledge is great, we hunger to learn,
yet science cannot alone explain
the wonder we feel at nature’s play;

The beauty of light broken through prisms.

The light through fine raindrops high above
creating a rainbow at which we swoon and dream,
to which even songs are composed.
To the multitude of colours within,

Through bubbles, angles and light.

The glassblower’s art, so fascinating,
almost mystic as we watch.
I love observing, almost tear eyed;
Always walk out with one piece in my hand.

I have seen this wonder in snow crystals too
and yes, in a drinking glass.
In reverence we watch these bubbles in the sky,
in a studio, in a droplet on a grass;

Don’t let us forget bubbles of light
rising from our hearts.

LITTLE HOUSE

LITTLE HOUSE

I dream of you, long for you
Need you;
Little house near the sea.
With passion I long to enter,
to open that door.

There might be cobwebs and spiders,
still, straight through the hall and room;
Floor to ceiling windows flood the house
with light from sun and sea.

I drop my bag, abandoned it lays,
quickly walk up to the light. My heart melts,
A smile grows and tears run.

I found you, found you
my whisper says,
we belong. I feel at peace and complete.

Having wandered long, seen much,
learnt, laughed and cried;
Now I need harmony and peace.

Dear Little House, I will make you glow
like you made me,
so out comes buckets and tools
I start working whilst singing along.

As all is finished and glows
air streams in through the door,
the door to the deck facing the sea.
Do I need to say more?

Pulling up a little table and chair
to the windows, that now
shine and gleam,
sipping coffee just brewed;
The van won’t be here in quite a while.

So, I greet my beloved sea gulls and terns.

Then to my surprise a Goldfinch lands
on the windowsill.
He is beautiful and I wish he would stay;
Although he loves bushes and trees.

Settling in this house I dreamt,
among birds and creatures of the sea,
I will not forget, my dear winged friends
in the dreamy garden where I lived.

How could I, they enriched my life.

Should you ever pass my way
please remember to come in,
there will always be a welcome for a friend.

CANDYFLOSS LIGHT

Candy floss Light

The powerful display by masters
by setting sun over snow and dark wood,
In shadows, on light drenched ground
How can one wish for more;

In silent awe I sit with a friend
we whisper quietly our awe,
To talk loud seems a sacrilege,
in this Temple not built by man.

For a while the snow had taken
hues of bright white with diamonds aglow.
With light blue shades
and deeper blues, like a fathomless lake,
shadows the mighty forest threw;

As sun sets further, colours of candy floss,
soft pink coloured the snow,
Lit it as from within, such eerie light,
against black-green  forest behind;

The sun sank into the sea,
Light still glowed
As now the full moon lit the scene,
even she was pink.
