Clerical Collar

Clerical Collar

Shining love and joy they stood
on a stony edge of a forest road,
almost falling into the deep ditch.

I stood looking at them in awe.

Clerical collar and wild Bluebells in harmony.
Exuding peace, I even saw a twinkle;
So easy we could pass in hurried life,
pass the blessings along the road.

I continued with glow in my heart
understanding how all living can sing.
Sing the praise of being here and now.

HIDDEN WINGS

Hidden Wings

This morning as the sun arose
I saw a little bird fly in,
blessing my garden with its grace.

It fed among flowers and seeds
without hurry or greed,
leaving enough for the friends.

Suddenly he hopped up to my patio door,
turned his head side to side, studying me;
I was feeding too.

I could hear him tweet, you can also fly,
your wings are hidden within.
Just trust and you will rise;
Higher each time.

I tried this once before, when I was a girl,
I thought my arms too thin, no wings at all.
Now I wonder, does he mean my spirit wings?

Could I soar and dip and swing
if I trust the wings within.

Why don’t we all give it a try.

SOFTLY

SOFTLY

they fall upon a hungry ground,
snowflakes filled with dew.
So slowly, so gently they wake
grasses and plants.  Feed them

blessings from the sky.
As together Earth and snow create
A season of awakening, of new life.

The feed from above settles lightly
on my newly created lawn,
I say, thank you for the blessing
Knowing the grass will smile with the sun.

So gently we are all bound together
a creation of love and life.

Blessings

Woke to a soft morning, felt whole,
warm under duvet, hands hugging my shoulders,
I smiled at the sleepy hug;
Stretched, felt every limb start to sing
as I allowed time to just be – before day begun.

Opened the curtains and saw the sun
hugging my garden, the trees, the sky;
All seemed pure and renewed,
only distant rumbles from planes high above,
Bringing people here and there.

Content with my place just now
until fate decides otherwise as mystery unfolds.
Arrived from one haven and landed in another;

I realise I am blessed.
