M I S T
Mysterious mist
greeted me this morning,
so fine, like sheer tulle.
Made me wonder what it hid.
As sun slowly and majestically rose
The woodland was revealed,
Tree by tree they appeared.
The mist giving in to the sun
seemingly reluctant but succumbed.
Two doves watched me standing there
smiling at my awe.
Before mist gave in, it was coloured
in the most incredible hues
So much beauty if we just look.

You are really talented. No, gifted. God gave you abilities, and you have made the most of them. Do you ever publish your paintings? One of my neighbors paints, draws, and makes beautiful pottery. I can’t do those things, so I try to keep my appreciation skills honed.

Anne, you are really kind and generous in this comment.
I haven’t had the courage of using exhibitions but some have been given and bought by people who have asked. A couple hang in American homes, some in Swedish and some here in u.k. it is hard to draw on porcelain, a neighbour wanted me to do it. Such delicacy and precision. . We don’t know what we can do until we try. 🤗.

Thank you so much Lauren. Otherworldly, how interesting that you
should feel this. We belong to that world and yet many days get to rushed for us to see it and feel it. 🌻

That world in the pictures is exactly where my characters live–misty hills, abundant wildlife. Glorious.

Thank you , Jaqui, for you ur spontaneous and lovely words. So, your characters live in a mystic world. I took top photo in Smokey mountains and the bottom one in a forest in Sweden. The Elk and I had a stand-off😊.

I always find mist magical, Miriam. I smiled at “Made me wonder what it hid.” When I was living in Oregon, we lived in Bigfoot Country, with quite a few claims by people of having seen one, including my brother. Whenever the mist settled into our canyon, I imagined Bigfoot out in the nearby trees hidden by the mist, watching us. Lovely poem.

I love your comments, Curt, thank you. Yes mist is mysterius and magical and it is obvious from your experience in Bigfoot land that you were also aprehensive 🙂
In the forest in Sweden spring and early summer will often have a fine whirling mist in clearings. We call it ” Anglorna dansar” = The Angels’ dance.
Nature is a wonder for us all and from your writing I know you very mush agree.

The Angels’ Dance. I like it. Actually, I would have loved it if Big Foot would have been watching us. 🙂

Miriam, your last line says it all! ‘If we just look’!! So often we just do NOT look, rushing to something, minds spinning on things, our eyes glued to the phone screens! Thank you for sharing what you looked out and saw – the gentle mist a source of wonder, your gentle quiet tones relating the magic and wonder of the moment! Maybe the two doves were equally entranced by the unravelling of the mist that morn! hugs xx❤️

Dear Annika, your wonderful comment fills my heart with joy. You felt every word and took it in, what more can one want. Yes. there are a lot of spinning minds in our world and that can blind us to the wonders that surround. You are right about the doves, maybe they were doing the same. Thank you deep;y. Hugs xx
