Little Leaf

Little Leaf

Good morning little leaf, so brave
spinning and dancing in the trellis.
For a month you hung on and still do
whilst your sisters and brothers fall.

What strength holds you steady
yet lets you dance so wild.
You encourage me every day.

It knows its time will come, until then
it will dance with the wind,

rest in the sun.

  1. Miriam, as the little leaf dances so do your words, capturing the wonder of this seemingly innocuous moment which is a reflection of our very will to live, whatever storms encountered along the way! A beautiful, tender and inspiring poem that will stay with me! hugs xx β€οΈπŸ˜€

  2. Annika, what do I say to such an absolutely wonderful comment.
Thank you as a start. Your words dance and make my heart smile.
I am touched about your words β€œ whatever storms encountered β€œ . Most of us
treasure life and want to go on. Let us.
I love life and feel I understand the little leaf. πŸ’–πŸŒ±.

We are only beginning to understand bits and pieces of the magic of trees and their leaves. But you have shown that we don’t have to understand to appreciate with your delightful poem. Peace and Blessings to you and those you love.

    • JoAnna, thanks for your lovely and thoughtful words. Indeed, we don’t have to understand all with your mind in order to sense the beauty and strength
      nature teaches us.
Peace and blessings back to you and your family. I also hope we will send that warmth out to all our fellow beings in the world.

    • Thank you so much, Jacqui. You are so right about Sprice and Pine, how true are their leaves. A song originally from Germany β€œ oh, Tannenbaum, oh Tannenbaum, wie treu sind deine BlΓ€tter….”.

But how can we not love the beautiful changes of leaves 🍁. πŸ€—.
