There are times you meet someone
A precious pearl in the business of life;
Like healing balm they are
with wise words and smiles.

Your whole being feels brighter
your eyes start shining again.

You treasure these pearls
whether they stay long or short
keeping them safely in your heart,
Take them out ever now and then.

Hoping that I might be a Pearl
and one day give light to someone;
Give kindness with deep attention,
switch on a light within them.

Pearls that they can also take out
ever now and again;
Make them smile and hum.

RING OUT

RING OUT

A Cymbal that never rings out
A violin that never sings,
Objects of beauty that lost their voice.

Birds on a branch in silence
People who never laugh
A world dying within.

May we see the light again
See it spread warmth and smiles,
The birds will sing
The music heal pain.

May we then all understand
That kindness and care fuel life and joy.

HUSH

Stillness, oh stillness you can touch
The morning sun a red-gold globe
Seemingly hanging in the trees,

A hush that wraps all in its arms.

Birds of all kinds are flying, swooping,
are they purely having fun?
Are they thrilled by the hush?

Ancient memories triggered within
about life on Earth.

The air is a heady elixir
tasting of plants and herbs,
In reverence I stop and feel awe.

Could it be so simple and so difficult,
A spring clean of the whole Earth?

Of oceans, forests, cities and air
What a joy and peace each day could be.
I am sure Earth would help with delight.

Smiles and kindness would again light
faces that for long been sad and drawn.

We need our scientists to help,
with imagination, intuition and skills;
To build what doesn’t harm but support.
