UNANIMITY

Unanimity

Love makes you strong
yet helpless at times.
Love can move mountains
yet not heal a suffering friend.

We can comfort, soothe and help,
hold a hand, give courage, but
can we remove the core pain?

Is being there enough when storm roars?

I look at the birds and see their ease
their natural being, living free today;
I listen to shouting and angry voices
who think they know how to lead.

I say, you don’t know a thing.
We all need care, love and togetherness.
Not anger and weapons,
lifeless tools for creating a whole.

Fragmented you leave the world.

Let love and care be behind our actions
it is surprising how good that feels,
Remember, we are all the same
and yet unique.

Our souls will whisper our songs
They will all sing in tune.

DOUBTING

DOUBTING

Are we ever good enough to create,
be it in writing or paint?
Doubts that seems like a plague
or might it just make us strive?

Strive to create our utmost, our best.

Does a seed ever doubt itself
as it falls to the ground?
Does it feel small and inferior?
I believe it just does sow.

Follow its purpose and beauty on Earth.

Yet mankind seems doomed to hesitate,
to doubt, belittle and judge;
In lieu of fulfilling gifts we have.
Even the masters suffered this scourge.

Yet their creations lifted others high
Often after they left this Earth,
still doubting themselves.
That is sad.

We might be amateurs or maybe great,
Few will know …
Until after they are dead.

I do hope we all then can smile
wherever we are
and be content with our work,
The light it could spread.

HERE AND BEYOND

IMG_1859

HERE  AND  BEYOND

There is something beyond the mountains
Beyond the sun, beyond the stars,
beyond my burning, longing heart;

A yearning for Cosmos to fill the soul
with its song so pure and serene.

Sounds from oceans, lakes and forests
fill us with joy and peace,
how can there be more beyond?
I just know there is.

Looking at the complexity, the beauty of a rose
residing on the table as I write,
Does it also long for more or does it know;
The wonder of the Whole.

May I never be blind to the universe
held in a flower, a tree
nor to the glory of a human heart.

I feel the greatness of the Whole
is beyond the understanding of our minds.
Still, it is there, giving its gifts each day.

Discourse with Friends

Discourse with Friends

I wish I could speak with animals
in their language or mine,
What a wonder to hear each one;

What would the lion have to say
or the bird in the tree?

I might be careful speaking to Crocodile,
when he says hello I might fall in;
He might choke.

Mr and Mrs Elephant are high on my list,
so huge, yet gentle and kind.
They could tell how to rear the young;

Also tell about their fear of homo sapiens,
especially those carrying killing machines.
Their sadness and grief at bereavements,
losses of mothers, fathers and kids.

They ask why?

To comfort myself I walk into the sea,
play with the Dolphins and listen
to the bright and happy exchange.

Their spirits are high but there is a sadness too,
do you know what happened to our food?
So much is now harming our young – and us all.

Meeting Mr and Mrs Elk in the forest glade,
they said the same as the Elephants,
also added, do you know why?
What could I say?

Mankind is yet not enlightened enough,
can’t understand;

The Sanctity of Life.

Lattice work against the Sky

101_0420 (1)

Lattice work against the Sky

Against deep blue sky,
little gold coloured leaves
hang on, shivering in the wind.
Beauty in all seasons
is the Birch.

In the morning sun
I saw purple blue Clematis,
Turned to shining,
golden, feathery balls.
Their beauty struck my heart.

Many things turn to beauty in death,
hadn’t much noticed before.
Butterfly clams on a warm strand
in life so little, so fast,

turn to glowing butterflies
when they die.

So it is that the Birch,
from tender gold/green
Through the seasons delight.

Naked again in the autumn wind,
Reveal beauty so sheer.

Unadorned.

Creativity

Is it only through utter, total peace
or its opposite,
sorrow and pain,
That we can experience;

The depth and crest of creation

Not to forget joy beyond words,
Stillness without bounds
where thoughts can’t reach.

Hear the whispers of leaves and grass,
just rejoice in the beauty of a butterfly,
a bird, a meadow field;
Nature seemingly holding its breath,

I want to hold you all, to share this moment,
Of otherworldly tranquility,
Help you see, it is so easy and yet so hard

To leave worries, plans and charts behind,
To taste an hour of total peace.

Before giving you my poem ‘ Frolicking” I want to introduce the story behind.
I have travelled many times to Greece and had the great pleasure of getting to                       to know people in villages on two of the islands and to part take of their lives and traditions
As I love the sea very much I actually did walk down early every morning when most
where asleep. The tremendous freedom will always be with me as a strongly imprinted
memory.

Some have asked me about my Gravatar and the poem will
explain how this happened.
Below is also an extract from the internet, one of the beliefs
about the Dolphin; Delphini in Greek.

The delight of the Dolphin spirit animal is her
delightfully charming energy with a playful spirit
and a flirtatious smile, she seems to invite you on
the adventure of your life. Perhaps you wonder if
she is a mermaid in disguise.

The ancient Greeks saw the Dolphin as a blessed
symbol of the sea, a messenger from the Gods.
The Dolphin has always been a spiritual ally to man,
there are many tales of Dolphins helping people who
have been stranded at sea.”

Frolicking

Like a Dolphin when it leaps and dives,
she is undisturbed in her morning play;
Rising sun and glittering waves
bear witness to her frolicking ways,

Her all encompassing joy.

Just being alive, weightless, untroubled,
belonging to nature’s force;
The sea, the sun, the breeze,
Scent from Olive trees above;

At dawn she quietly walks down,
to the sea where only fishermen arrived,
walk into freshness without words;
Starts swimming, leaping , zinging with life.

Walking back across the sand
in early morning light,
stretching arms to the sky;
saying thanks to Life,

she hears her name being called,

The fishermen ask her to join
at the taverna by the shore;
ordering another kafe metrio;
With a smile she accepts,

feeling honoured by kindness bestowed.

That is when they tell her,
we now call you Delphini,
Blessed symbol from the sea;

with tears in her eyes,
she nods her thanks to each one,
realizing we are all of the sea,
the earth.

The Rock

DSCN0358

The Rock

I laid down on a rock,
large, smooth, pink granite,
warmed by the sun.

Timeless energies from the rock,
enveloped me;

Soothed my muscles,
received my pains.
Gave ease, relaxation and peace.
A glow spreads within,

The birth of joy.

The sound from the sea
Joins the symphony,
waves rhythmically lapping the shore,
Singing their eternal song.

I drift into altered consciousness,
of wholeness and clarity.
A sweet voice says “are you o.k.?”
Blessings are complete.

With a smile I rise,
we continue to throw.
Pebbles that skip on the waves.
