The Sun
The sun came up as it has since time begun
painting sky and earth in its glorious colours,.
Bewitched I stood there and for a while,
only did exist.
Looking down at my beloved Hibiscus
I told it that I felt sorrow too,
as its budding glories might not bloom;
Autumn was here and quite cold.
So the seasons go and we can but
follow their eternal song,
From spring, summer, autumn and snow.
Learning to embrace and be part.
Yet, the sun will always rise
Sometimes high and at times low,
As we greet this warming globe
Let us rejoice, not moan.

What a lovely poem! I’m waiting for the sun to burn off the morning mist, although the gauzy scene is quite beautiful.
Is that honeysuckle?? I thought I saw some blooming in Waynesville last week.

Lovely thoughts! All seasons have their own charm Miriam, if spring brings new buds, autumn sweeps away all the unwanted, worn down elements of nature and paves way for more beauty. I love Mother Nature in all her attires… so does the sun. 😊

I am delighted that you could feel the scent of Honeysuckle. I plant one every
time I move. The scent reminds me of the island where I grew up and Honeysuckle grew wild and scent drifting down was so wonderful.

Imagine the sun’s time keeping and he has been doing it for millions of years, OMG!
Nice poem, it is the seasons effect that shows.
In fact, I have written one on the Sun long back, would want to attempt one more in different aspect.

Thank you for your lovely comment, Shiva. Almost every morning I will step out and see the beautiful spectacle of the sunrise, regardless of season. by the ocean, in woodlands and forests, by the lake and
as in the photo above – from the deck in the garden.
The most amazing one was far north in Sweden at midsummer. I saw sunset and sunrise within the hour.
Heard birds stop singing and start whilst my clock still said midnight.

yes, I dug it up and put it in a tub, thinking I would keep it in the garage over winter, but it is not doing well so far.
