UNANIMITY

Unanimity

Love makes you strong
yet helpless at times.
Love can move mountains
yet not heal a suffering friend.

We can comfort, soothe and help,
hold a hand, give courage, but
can we remove the core pain?

Is being there enough when storm roars?

I look at the birds and see their ease
their natural being, living free today;
I listen to shouting and angry voices
who think they know how to lead.

I say, you don’t know a thing.
We all need care, love and togetherness.
Not anger and weapons,
lifeless tools for creating a whole.

Fragmented you leave the world.

Let love and care be behind our actions
it is surprising how good that feels,
Remember, we are all the same
and yet unique.

Our souls will whisper our songs
They will all sing in tune.

  1. We shall all sing in Unison and Oneness, Miriam and that day will surely come where there will be no one who is angry or with weapons or there are wars where everything and everyone gets destroyed but a world of beauty and love. Such lovely and awesome poem. Too good.

  3. A beautiful poem that’s got me thinking: “Can we remove the core pain?” I believe that takes a lot of work and often a team effort with God/Creator as part of the team. Maybe the core pain has a lot to do with the anger and the weapons. Some people, including people in power, may never go into the pain, never acknowledge the need for healing, though it is possible. For those who are willing, we can at least shrink the core pain enough to move forward into the love and togetherness we all need. And our souls will all sing in tune. I love how you end your poems with hope.

  4. Thank you for your lovely comment, JoAnna, you have honoured me by reading the poem so carefully. I am happy you notice the hope at the end of most of my writing. I do believe in the importance of hope and love.

How wonderful wouldn’t it be if we all could sing in tune, wanting togetherness.

  5. Miriam, a powerful poem with a message for all of us … just hoping it is heard wide and far! Love and care is a strong force and with that behind our thoughts and actions a real difference can hopefully be created in the world. I love how you write that ‘ we are all the same/and yet unique.’ So true! Here’s to unanimity across the globe! Xx

    • Thank you, Annika, for this deep and thoughtful comment. I truly believe that the only way out of our tragedies in the world is love and care. That doesn’t mean we don’t very much need scientists and creators of all kind.
I do love the quote you use, do you think mankind will ever feel this.

Yes, to unanimity across the globe. 🌈💕.
