STARDUST

I am the tree reaching for the sky
I am the woman underneath
I am the leaves glowing in the sun
I am the Earth that feeds

I am the bird on the branch
I am the deer in the glade
I am the squirrel flying between.

I am the girl diving in the sea
I am the sea
I am the woman watching stars
I am Stardust

I am you
You are me.

  8. How true: “I am you, you are me,” this thought compresses the globe into one entity. It makes me wonder who started: “This is mine!” Into dust we all crumble.

  9. Balroop, it is with pleasure I read your comment and smile at how you picked the last line. It just had to be there, simple as that.
    After having written I was also thinking it sounds philosophical and spiritual.
    The connectedness was the driving factor.

      • Approx. 4 years, I can find out exact from the diary. It all started with a
        car accident where I sustained a serious concussion. A couple of months
        later I spontaneously started writing. It confused and bewildered me at first.

        I used to write both prose and poetry as very young and a teenager.
        Stopped as life got busy, only letter writing continued.

        I did take a very good poetry course to get some affirmation and steadiness
        to my writing. It was very beneficial for me.

    • Thank you, Judith. I am glad you liked my poem as I was a bit hesitant
      first myself. It spoke to me though so I shared this interconnectedness
      of all.
      I normally read all your posts but for family reason lagged behind. Read it
      now and see how close they are.

  15. Beautiful Miriam and true to the doctrine that Nietzsche proposed…his first rule of humanity is the fact that we all are one. What else would make a person risk his life to save another? When he has no choice but to risk his own life for is he didn’t it would be like a part of him was dying too.

  16. JC, thank you for your very interesting answer. This would put me on the shoulders of the great. 😊 , seeing the reputation of Nietzsche.
    I do see us all as interconnected – as one. With each other and nature.

    The proof you give is a strong one and has been seen frequently. It is a love that goes over and above.

  26. Thank you for this beautiful and exciting poem! I can easily relate to diving in the sea and looking at the stars and trees. You bring us all together in a marvelous symphony, connected and whole.
