G U I D E

Music, the language that crosses all barriers.
What would we do without it? Some have to and
I hope they will hear it deep within.

One of my passions is music and I had Utube playing
yesterday. I saw and heard a new song come up by name
of GUIDE. I listened with delight to this quite new and
young composer and thought of how lately I have written
about guidance in different forms.

With this in mind I changed my usual post pattern and
decided to share the song with you with my words underneath.

Gently and sweetly they fall,
each note a glittering raindrop;
with joy they lead me forward
Then with great release rise and soar.

All the time with harmonies and rhythms,
incredibly enticing and with surety;
Yes, Guide is such a perfect word
I say to myself as the end is reached.

Leaving me wanting more

  1. The music reminds me of Yanni’s which I listened to a lot when I was much younger and had time to listen and enjoy music. The sound is soothing at the same time encouraging one to go on. Thanks for sharing. 😀

I so agree with you on the comment about the sound in this piece of music.
      I felt the same.
Never stop listening to music, it is part of who we are.

and my words. It is a treasure.
Yes, it is indeed Annika’s son and I am sure you heard some of his music before. 😘 .

    • Thank you Brad for your kind and appreciative comment.
Music is indeed food for the soul and one great equaliser.
I have been listening to Yanni now and understand what you and Imelda
      feel.
Yanni is more on the classical side whilst Sammy seems to veer there but sitting firmly in the more modern. Interesting though. Why can’t these mingle?

  3. Thank you for this delight. Your words inspire the awareness that sharing music – singing or playing together is a powerful way to bridge divides between people and groups. I’ve seen it done, but need more of this.

  4. That’s lovely music Miriam…soothing as well as inspirational, both notes stand out prominently…as if a stream is cascading down but finds a lull at some places. Thanks for sharing it along with your poetry. I presume all poets are touched deeply by good music.

    • Thank you Balroop , I love your response to the music, I felt the same.
As to all poets being touched by music … I should think so. All the arts are
somehow linked in my humble opinion. 😊 .
I know music figured very strongly in my life since early years whilst poetry came like an avalanche a few years ago.

Mind you Balroop, could it be that we don’t really give trust and space in our lives for what we could do. .? Theories, I know.

    • Miriam, your comment is so kind, thanks. It is wonderful to find you also being a music lover, so enriching. It carries the emotions of people direct – from heart to heart. Something we try to do in our writing.

  9. Thank you for your so wonderful response Annika. It is easy to feel tender and warm when you really listen to this song by Sammy. When I saw the title I felt it eerie as this theme has been on my mind a lot. He just brought it forth so beautifully.
I am sure you will hear more from the young composer and from me. 😊.
    Hugs

    • Thank you Roland for your appreciative response. I do realise this is possibly not your usual musical fare so if I could guide I am happy.
I do find at times that both music and lyrics will have similar contents as before. The presentation differs, human longing and feelings are still there.
