CLOUDS VISITING

CLOUDS VISITING

Today the clouds visited earth,
in sweeping and shifting gauze
they swayed teasingly back and forth;
I breathed its droplets as I walked.

Skin felt rosy and refreshed
I am not sure about the lungs,
earth was happy and renewed
Even roses came out and shone.

Sun rays gently warmed the air,
the gauze thinned here and there,
mystically revealed and hid
parts of trees, branches, gables and spires.

What a delightful morning it was,
so much intrigue this dance exposed;

Made me think of us, our lives,
often harried with worries, wanting,
seeing fears ahead that might never come;

Rarely letting each day be revealed,
each wonder and delight,
each difficulty to combat at the time.

But for now I am here,
seeing the mystic, the clarity.

  1. Thank you Peter for your lovely response, I am glad if the poem did lift your morning and spirit. I love the picture too and took a series of them in Sweden. Just stepping out barefoot on the deck and click.

  2. The first line of your poem has a magic that transported me to the place you are so beautifully describing Miriam…I could feel those “droplets” on my face! Many thanks for creating the aura with your words, and adding a pleasant glow to my foggy morning. The fog is slowly disintegrating as I look through my window, feeling the warmth of sun rays. Keep inspiring dear friend. Love your poetry.

  3. Balroop, thank you for this beautiful comment, I am touched.
    How glad I am to have created an aura for you this morning and that
    you could feel the poem. The sun’s warmth does absorb these droplets
    but not until we and the Earth felt them.
    If I can inspire I will my friend.

    • Thank you Bette for your lovely response. I can well imagine that the nature
      up where you are would have similar mists. The photo was a summer one
      but either way they are mystical and inspires reflection as you say.🤗.

  4. Love this, Miriam! A walk on a foggy morning through the mist has its own sense of peace. It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy a quiet walk through mist, and this poem brings back the memories. And the picture is beautiful as well!

  6. Miriam, this is just what I needed to read! Finding my own life ‘harried with worries, wanting,/
    seeing fears ahead that might never come;’ I needed your beautiful poem to calm my soul. Your words instil a deep sense of peace and joy with life as you beautifully and with a light touch capture the magic of life around us. I love the idea of ‘Clouds Visiting’ and where many would moan you see ‘so much intrigue this dance exposed;’ Pure Miriam Poetry and just the tonic for me! Thank you! ❤️🌺

  7. Annika, thank you for this wonderful response. You make me smile towards the end when you say the poem is “Pure Miriam Poetry”. I say straight back to you, then your response is ‘pure Annika magic review’. 😊.

    I am so gladdened that my words could help you with the worries in the difficulties you faced or are facing. It is by going through these difficulties thrown in our way that we can find peace and joy. Maybe even learn they were not always so bad and at times … didn’t happen at all.
    Bless you ❤️🌲

  8. Miriam,
    A beautiful poem and quite appropriate on these cloudy days we’ve been having lately. I’m especially reminded of the quote , ‘through a glass darkly’ for it could read, ‘through a cloud darkly, and the mystic can see with clarity through the clouds darkly… jc.

  9. Thanks JC, It must be intriguing living with dark clouds in the Sun shine state. Here the sun shines brightly this morning.
    The weaving mist that I write about has nothing dark in it, it is mysterious
    and intriguing. In Sweden we call it ” Fairies dancing” .
    Keep well

  10. I’m not sure why, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gained a greater appreciation for clouds – their beauty and their shadowy shapes in the sky. I agree with your poem – clouds can bring clarity in their shapes and shifts and sudden presence at times. xo

  11. Thank you Pam for reading and commenting. I always liked watching clouds
    move across the sky, their changing shapes and colours.
    The fine mists that sweep along the ground I find mysterious and exciting as they gradually reveal what was hidden a minute ago.

    There seems to beauty in all of nature.
