OUR VILLAGE

OUR VILLAGE

Togetherness, care, listening and love are some of the major ingredients that binds a village to a homogenous place of comfort – of home.

During the time I have been part of the blogging there have been so many events, so many words and gestures that have warmed and filled me.

Voices from every corner of the world. An amazing feeling. Through words we manage to make ourselves real and as in any conversation we reveal more and more of who we really are under the layers of politesse and traditions. The being that is not just formed by other’s opinions but dare seek out their own.

I feel great gratitude to be part of this Village and may we all keep striving for continued generosity and sharing.

As I cant give you any fun little gifts I send all warm hugs and ask you to join hands for a huge ring dance.

OUR VILLAGE

You are all my friends, I thought with warmth
as I scanned each icon and face
of those who came to say hello,
maybe even stayed a while;

Shared the view from my window,

A rush of love shot through my heart,
I could hear your voices, your words
as you told of thoughts and events,
Also listened to mine;

I felt and partook in your light and dark
we also shared angst,
Questions of what life is about,
joy for all we are given.

Like a village we are,
talking in the square or coffee shop;
Sharing laughs and tears,
you matter much, each one of you,

Much more than I knew
I hope you understand.

Without knowing you helped me
through some hard times,
made my heart sing a new song;
Your kind words gave me confidence;

Confidence to sing.

      Thanks for reminding me, we have to sing too – in any language we choose to. Cacophony? Not at all. 🎼🎶. Harmony.

  5. The image you offer through your window throws our community into warm perspective Miriam. Sharing the view your window and comments offer is both supportive and heart-warming in a world which often appears to be governed by cynicism and despondency. Thank you for such a positive and warm poem exemplifying the hope and support we give each other.

  6. Thank you for your beautiful comment Roland, I am really so glad it reached your heart too. I sat one day and saw all the little icons and images we use and felt I ‘knew’ so many of you. You felt warm and real and full of ideas and warmth. It gladdened me so I just wrote the poem straight off. Not a work of art but of feelings.
    Yes, I so agree with you, there is so much cynicism and despondency. Cynicism should be taboo for a start. It is in our village. 😊🦋
    Warm support is what make us all grow and smile.

  7. Great intro to an equally great poem, Miriam. It’s excellent poetry and sentiments like this that make such a community a beautiful place to be. I’ve only recently started to read your words, but I find myself wanting to return many times to be immersed in their warmth. I’m thankful for the view from your window. Always keep a song in your heart.

    • Thank you Sharon for your beautiful comment and I am glad you enjoy my view. I know how difficult it is for mankind to reach that level of care where we really can join hands but I also believe in a dream.
      A dream of the good winning if we all spread our share of love and care.

  8. Such a wonderful mental image. Like-minded people from all over the world, coming together through the “web”, to create a “web” of happiness and support. The sharing of care, and the promotion of good thoughts and ideas can only benefit us, both as individuals and as a society. Thank you, Miriam, for bringing this into focus for me and your fellow “villagers”. The pictures are inspiring too!

  12. Beautiful, Miriam. I feel the same way about this blogging village that encompasses people from all over the world. What a joy and pleasure as well as a beacon of hope for a world that often feels so divided. May we all continue to appreciate each other’s songs and sing with confidence. ❤

    • Thank you Diana and I am so glad you share my feelings about this community we moved a lot of our thoughts and work too.
      I feel like you, that we could be a beacon of light for a world that so often is divided. Appreciating and taking joy in each other’s songs and yes;
      Help all to find the confidence to be who they are.

  13. Thank you Brian, yes you are lucky I think. A good community is warming and supportive. You get a great variety of characters but all share the same
    Village and care for it and its inhabitants.

    I grew up in a very tightknit community and know for sure it’s benefits. It takes a village to bring up a child a saying goes.:)

  14. Love the poem MIriam and the thoughts it expresses. I believe that communities exist in many forms and are based on a shared interest be it sport, work, location, writing, blogging or ……well you get the gist. In my experience though you cannot seek them out. They find you and then gradually develop over time. And you never know when it’s going to happen.

    I am so glad I met you on the Main Street today as you are now being dragged to a cafe. What is the rush…..I know, we can make a long list but
    above all it is about us humans and caring. About loving.
