  1. Miriam, what a beautiful poem and wish for the artist intention. Alas, it is up to the artist in each of us, to hone our craft so we can live up to that lofty goal.

  2. Thank you so much B and you are right about possibilities. Your beautiful photography would fit right in.
The list could be endless and this morning I told my hairdresser that she was an artist, creating to fit each face.

  3. Thank you for your generous comment Balroop. I am so glad you can feel all that through my words. It was odd how the title ‘Chiselled’ just stuck with me although I tried others.
Hearing the comments I see that it was right.

  4. I can’t improve on what thebackyardpoet said. Cultures may change, ideologies may destroy, but somewhere, someone, will still have your words. Keep writing

  5. Beautiful poem Miriam, and how true about giving colour to the written word. I believe that spoken words can evoke colour (for instance the word “sadness” is blue to me while “happiness” is iridescent orange.) However the written word is more difficult, and chiselling them into different objects is an ideal image.

  6. Thank your you very much for your intriguing comment. I am interested to hear the colours you feel with different emotions. A whole science in itself.
Yes, the written word can be difficult to shape right as the interpretation can vary so much between each one of us.

  7. Miriam this is an exquisitely crafted poem and the words and sentiments have carved a place for themselves in my heart and mind. 😀❤️ Your poems are never just black and white and as your write with such lyrical colourful imagery they are instead

‘Like dew drops in the sheer morning light
    Or the dancing butterflies.’

May we all blow such radiance into our work whatever form it takes…stunning work.

Btw I love the photos – glass sculptures are one of my favourites and these colourful ones are superb! 😀

It fills me with joy that my words have touched you and given you a positive experience. You do inspire me to work more and always with depth of care.

I love glass sculptures too and especially as light goes through them.

  8. Thank you Georgina for your beautiful response.
I needed to bring the writing into another dimension for me not to lose courage as there was so much visual art that stunned.
Words are powerful if used with love and care.
